Crafts - Jewelry (December 2012)

These pictures are of some of the jewelry that I made this month. From left to right: bracelet, necklace, friendship bracelet, matching earrings and necklace.

I prefer to purchase beads, charms and other materials then custom make my own jewelry as I tend to be happier with the results. When shopping for jewelry I rarely find exactly what I'm looking for!

Each of my pieces are custom made from my imagination and materials I have on hand, I don't follow patterns or designs, I just make them based on my mood or to match the outfit I want to wear the next day. :-)

FlyLady - Shine Your Sink

When I started the FlyLady (flylady.net) program about a year ago it really helped me get my house in order, then I started to neglect my routines and well the house was no longer in order nor was it as relaxing as it should have been.

The times when our lives are most peaceful are generally when our home is in order and we stick with a schedule to insure that everything gets done when it needs to be done!

It all starts with shining your sink! For me this tends to be where it all starts to go downhill. Since we chose not to have a dishwasher in our home, we wash all of our dishes by hand. If we do not keep up with the dishes, then the sink is not clean and this causes stress. Just keeping our dishes washed up and making our sink shine is the first step for us to a peaceful and relaxing home.

The next thing that keeps us on track is our household notebook (or in the FlyLady program, our "Control Journal"). In our control journal we keep our plans, routines, detailed cleaning lists, projects, monthly menu planners, shopping lists, to-do lists, gift lists, vehicle maintenance schedules, financial information, holiday plans, birthday plans, list of birthdays & anniversaries, address book, and emergency information.

If you are like me and tend to get "sidetracked" or don't know where to start to get your home in order, you might consider visiting flylady.net to try it for yourself (it is free), then create your own control journal to get started.

Getting back on track...

Well I have not blogged in about a year, I have not been doing Flylady for the last 9 months, and I have not been couponing for the last 6 months! What have I been doing you might ask?

I am now 24 weeks pregnant with a little boy (our first child) who we have named Noah Joseph. I am due April 20th, 2013.

I have really fallen off the band wagon in many areas, however I am slowly but surely getting back on track!

First of all, I re-designed my blog. I will now be blogging about my journey in Homemaking, Flylady, Couponing, Deal-Hunting, Pregnancy, Motherhood, my Craft Projects, and anything else I feel like sharing!

Second, I re-started the FlyLady (flylady.net) program about 2 weeks ago, my house is now back in order, except for two small areas that we are re-organizing a little at a time.

Third, I purchased 4 newspapers ($2 each, total $8 investment) today for the coupons. The inserts were P & G ($85 worth of coupons each, total $340 value). We then made a trip to CVS (the first one in a LONG time) and used $8 in coupons (we have broken even on the newspapers already) - I will post pictures soon.

Join me as I get back on track one step at a time! :-)
